Make a real impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) supporting K-12 students in a specialized school for the blind. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated educators and transform the classroom experience for students with visual impairments.

With your full-time commitment, you'll work five days a week, helping a diverse group of learners achieve their educational goals and develop critical life skills in an inclusive, encouraging environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Maryland TVI licensure required
• Experience working with visually impaired students in K-12 settings preferred
• Strong knowledge of specialized instructional strategies, Braille, and assistive technology
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Passion for fostering independence and confidence among students

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to students needs
• Provide direct and consultative instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility as appropriate
• Modify and adapt curriculum materials for accessibility
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to support student development
• Track student progress and communicate achievements and areas of growth
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a positive school culture
