Job Description

This position requires a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve a middle school caseload from kindergarten through 12th grade. The assignment will be onsite in North Charleston, SC, for the 2025-2026 school year, running from August 6, 2025, through May 29, 2026. The role involves working 3540 hours per week under a contract agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning

Qualifications:

  • South Carolina certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired required
  • Experience working with K-12 populations preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and maintain detailed records
