Support the educational journey of students with visual impairments as a dedicated professional in a full-time, contract role. Youll provide expert instructional support to school-aged students across various schools within the county, ensuring each learner receives tailored assistance. Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired in an educational setting
- Ability to adapt curriculum and materials for visual accessibility
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, administrators, and families
- Flexibility and organizational skills required for an itinerant role
- Current clearances as required by Pennsylvania education standards
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction for visually impaired students across various sites in the county
- Assess individual student needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials for accessibility, including braille or large print, as needed
- Consult and collaborate with school staff and families to support inclusive educational practices
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Travel between school locations as required for caseload responsibilities
