Job Description

This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for compassionate teachers dedicated to adaptive instructional practices and student success. Youll play a pivotal role, traveling between schools as needed to provide tailored support and instruction for students across a range of ages.

Start as soon as possible and continue through late May 2026, following the regular Monday through Friday school schedule. Each day consists of seven hours of engaged teaching and support, with a 30-minute lunch break. The specific caseload and locations will be determined based on student needs, giving you a dynamic and varied work experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid and active Louisiana Department of Education teacher certification required
  • Specialized expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Ability to pass a district-specific drug screening and fingerprint background check
  • Flexibility to work itinerantly across multiple campuses
  • Experience adapting instruction for students with visual impairments is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with visual impairments
  • Provide direct instruction and support using appropriate materials and technology
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and related service providers
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusion throughout the school community
  • Travel as needed to assigned locations within the district
