Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification or endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students facing visual challenges, preferably in a school setting
• Familiarity with Braille instruction, adaptive technology, and assistive materials
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs
• Compassionate, patient, and resourceful approach to teaching and problem-solving

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments
• Assess student skills and learning needs, adapting lessons to facilitate academic progress
• Provide training and support in the use of Braille, tactile graphics, and specialized devices
• Consult regularly with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure students accommodations are met
• Advocate for accessible curriculum modifications and participate in IEP meetings
• Empower students to foster independence, self-advocacy, and confidence in and out of the classroom
