Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments across K-12th grade in a welcoming school community not far from New Braunfels, TX. This contract role is ideal for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) who is passionate about fostering independence and academic growth in children and adolescents. Enjoy a part-time schedule of 2-3 days per week, offering balance and variety throughout your workweek.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current and active Texas TVI license
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments preferred
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Commitment to advocating for accessible learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and lesson modifications as needed
- Assist with the selection and use of adaptive technology and materials
- Collaborate with educational teams to promote inclusion and accessibility
- Offer guidance and resources to teachers and families to support student success
- Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
