Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Must hold active Illinois teaching licensure and certification specific to visually impaired students
  • CTE endorsement required
  • Demonstrated experience working in school-based environments
  • Previous experience conducting functional vision and media assessments preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to evidence-based practices and individualized student support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional vision assessments and media assessments for students as part of the evaluation process
  • Carry out classroom observations to provide insight and recommendations
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to gather comprehensive data for each assessment
  • Document findings accurately and deliver recommendations to the evaluation team
  • Adhere to school protocols and confidentiality standards
  • Participate in a brief (30-minute) interview as part of the selection process
  • Onsite presence is required; this is not a virtual/online (VOCO) position
