Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois State Licensure Interpreted (SLI) required
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) in Illinois
  • Experience or strong interest in working with students with visual impairments in a school environment
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct instruction to students with visual impairments, utilizing modified curriculum and assistive technology
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
  • Provide consultative support for classroom teachers and paraprofessionals
  • Recommend and facilitate the use of specialized equipment and technology
  • Track student progress and collaborate in team meetings to ensure optimal educational strategies
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievement and progress

Compensation for this position ranges from $30.00 to $53.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
