A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) near Miami Beach, FL, supporting two classrooms with approximately 10 students each. This contract role involves working in a collaborative co-teaching environment dedicated to empowering blind and visually impaired children through specialized instruction and support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct instruction in braille and assistive technology tailored to students needs.
• Assisting instructional staff in implementing accommodations that enhance the learning environment.
• Adapting classroom settings to facilitate effective learning for visually impaired students.
• Providing braille instruction support and resources to families.
• Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to advocate for student goals.
• Offering outreach support and training for children and families.
• Delivering early intervention services aligned with client objectives.
• Supporting various childrens programs as required.
• Maintaining professional credentials, including Florida DOE TVI licensure, through ongoing education.
• Updating client assessments and recording outcomes in relevant database systems.
• Engaging in staff conferences, community events, and curriculum adaptation efforts based on evolving client and professional needs.

Qualifications:

• Florida DOE Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure is mandatory.
• Experience in braille instruction and use of assistive technologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a co-teaching setting.
• Strong communication skills for working with families and educational teams.
• Commitment to professional development and maintaining accreditation.
