Job Description

In this traditional VI Teacher role, youll work alongside educators, specialists, and families to develop individualized educational plans and deliver exceptional instructional support. Your expertise will ensure students develop not only academic skills, but also confidence and independence in the classroom and beyond.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Visually Impaired Teacher License and valid MA DOE License
  • Must have passed the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTELs)
  • Experience instructing or supporting students with visual impairments is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments across grade levels
  • Conduct functional vision assessments and help craft appropriate accommodations or modifications
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to implement and monitor IEP goals
  • Advocate for accessible learning materials, adaptive technology, and classroom modifications
  • Offer guidance and resources to staff and families regarding visual impairment awareness and best practices
