This contract opportunity is based near Andover, MA, and seeks compassionate, adaptable Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to empower students to reach their fullest potential. Positions are available for both full-time and part-time schedules, making it a great fit for experienced educators looking for flexibility.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Visually Impaired Teacher License and MA Department of Education (DOE) certification
  • Successful completion of the MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents who are visually impaired preferred
  • Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual learning needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction, orientation, and mobility training to students with visual impairments in diverse educational settings
  • Adapt curriculum materials, assistive technology, and teaching methods to ensure accessibility
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to develop and support Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor student progress toward educational and functional goals
  • Advocate for student needs and promote independence both inside and outside the classroom
