Make a meaningful impact working onsite as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, partnering with students who require specialized instruction and support. This is a contract opportunity available full-time or part-time, starting as soon as possible and continuing through mid-June 2026. Qualifications:
- Active VI Teacher License and current Massachusetts Department of Education credentials
- Successful completion of MTELs required
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments in a school environment is strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively collaborate with staff, families, and multi-disciplinary teams
- Commitment to individualized education and adaptive instructional strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions tailored to students who are visually impaired
- Participate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
- Adapt curriculum materials, technology, and classroom activities to promote access and independence
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and other service providers to ensure inclusive educational experiences
- Provide guidance, training, and resources to staff and families working with visually impaired students
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies based on evolving needs
