Make a difference for students with visual impairments by providing dedicated support and innovative instruction across multiple campuses in the Mesquite area. As an onsite contract Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you'll collaborate with a diverse team, adapting learning resources and strategies to empower students in their educational journey. This full-time role spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering the opportunity to work closely with students ranging from elementary to high school, including those receiving homebound instruction.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Texas State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) licensure is required.
• Demonstrated experience supporting school-aged children with visual impairments, preferably within a public school setting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff.
• Knowledge of adaptive technology, Braille, and strategies for curriculum modifications.
• Ability to work independently, manage an itinerant schedule, and adapt to changes in caseload and campus assignments.

Position Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized, on-site instruction to students with visual impairments across approximately six campuses.
• Assess students needs and develop IEP goals focused on maximizing access to curriculum and fostering independence.
• Provide consultation and training to classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families regarding accommodations and specialized equipment.
• Support and monitor progress for 12-15 students, including at least three receiving homebound services.
• Maintain thorough documentation and participate in ARD/IEP meetings as required.
