Job Description
A full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) position is available for the 2026/2027 school year within a school district located in Lumberton, NC. This role supports students across elementary, middle, and high school levels Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students in accordance with district methods and requirements.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement using both formal and informal testing practices.
- Prepare for and actively participate in relevant Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings.
- Manage caseload across multiple grade levels, ensuring individualized educational plans are effectively implemented.
Qualifications:
- Must hold current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of teaching methods and assessments aligned with district requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and participate in ARD meetings.
Location: Lumberton, North Carolina
Contract Type: Full-time for the 26/27 school year
