Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting their educational journey as a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract position runs from August 10, 2026 through May 27, 2027, offering the opportunity to work Monday through Friday across all grade levelselementary, middle, and high school.

In this role, youll provide specialized instruction tailored to students with visual impairments, utilizing current methods and best practices, all in alignment with district guidelines. Your expertise will help ensure each student receives individualized support, leading to meaningful growth and achievement.

Key qualifications and experience needed:

  • Valid certification as a Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher
  • Demonstrated ability to teach students with visual disabilities at various grade levels
  • Strong understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and ARD procedures
  • Experience conducting a range of formal and informal student assessments
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing instructional strategies for students with visual impairments, adjusting methods as required by the district
  • Conducting ongoing assessment of student progress through formal and informal testing
  • Preparing materials and participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
  • Effectively managing a diverse caseload spanning elementary to high school students
  • Maintaining accurate records and timely documentation
