Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting students with visual impairments in a dynamic educational environment near Lowell, MA. This contract position offers an excellent opportunity for passionate educators specializing as Teachers of the Visually Impaired (VI) to make a positive impact while collaborating with dedicated teams. The assignment is onsite only, with flexible full-time or part-time hours available, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 18, 2026.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid and active Massachusetts VI Teacher License (MA DOE certification required)
  • Successful completion of applicable MTELs
  • Prior experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to individualized instructional planning and accessibility for students with visual impairments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that support each students unique needs
  • Adapt classroom materials and implement assistive technologies to foster independence and academic progress
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to promote inclusive educational environments
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to team meetings as required
