Inspire and empower students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a supportive school environment near Lorena, TX. This part-time contract position is ideal for a dedicated professional who wants to make a real difference for students with visual impairments. Working on-site, you'll collaborate closely with staff and families to create accessible, engaging learning experiences tailored to each child's unique needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Texas Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license required
• Experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with educators, families, and related service providers
• Comfortable working with school-aged children (caseload includes 7 studentsnone are fully blind or require braille instruction)
• Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with varying levels of vision

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across one or more school sites (assignments to be determined)
• Assess visual needs and help modify curriculum materials for accessibility
• Consult with classroom teachers and staff regarding accommodations and assistive technology
• Implement and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Empower students with self-advocacy skills and strategies to succeed across academic and social settings
• Engage in ongoing communication with families and multidisciplinary team members
