In this role, you will provide essential servicesboth direct instruction and consultationto a diverse caseload across multiple school sites. Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required
- Background in providing educational services for students with visual impairments
- Experience with direct instruction and consultative support for students using Braille and other adaptive methods
- Familiarity with IEPs and accommodations for visually impaired students, especially those who are totally blind
- Willingness to travel between 4-5 school locations as needed
- Comfort working with both onsite and virtual/VOCO instruction, with willingness to demo virtual instruction if needed
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to 4 primary students each week, focusing on skills and individualized supports
- Provide consultation for up to 4 additional students, collaborating with educational teams and families
- Develop and monitor IEP goals, documenting progress and making adjustments as necessary
- Adapt curriculum and learning materials using accessible formats, including Braille and assistive technology
- Serve as a resource for staff and parents, offering strategies and guidance specific to students visual needs
- Maintain robust communication across multiple school sites to ensure continuity of services
