Position Overview:
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time role in Lawrence, MA. This position focuses on supporting students with visual impairments by providing specialized instruction and ensuring access to the general education curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats (Braille, large print, assistive technology)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
- Support orientation and mobility goals in coordination with specialists
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Visual Impairment or related field
- Valid Massachusetts licensure as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments
- Experience working in school-based settings preferred
- Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Position Details:
- Full-time schedule (37.540 hours per week)
