Job Description

A reputable collaborative is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a contract position running through June 2026. Work onsite with a team focused on providing high-quality educational experiences and tailored support for students in need.

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Teacher for the Visually Impaired license (VI Teacher License)
  • Current MA Department of Education (DOE) licensure
  • Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
  • Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials for accessibility
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
  • Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining thorough documentation
  • Advocate for students needs and foster an inclusive classroom environment
  • Stay current with best practices and relevant technology for visual impairment education
