A reputable collaborative is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a contract position running through June 2026. Work onsite with a team focused on providing high-quality educational experiences and tailored support for students in need.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Teacher for the Visually Impaired license (VI Teacher License)
- Current MA Department of Education (DOE) licensure
- Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
- Prior experience working with visually impaired students preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials for accessibility
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
- Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining thorough documentation
- Advocate for students needs and foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Stay current with best practices and relevant technology for visual impairment education
