In this rewarding contract opportunity, youll provide essential educational support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for students near Kingman, AZ. Desired Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain one in Arizona
- Experience teaching students with visual impairments or blindness in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of accessible curriculum development and assistive technologies for visual impairments
- Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
- Approachability, patience, and a commitment to fostering independence in students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in various school settings
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and assessments
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding student needs and best practices
- Utilize and train students/staff on assistive technology and orientation and mobility techniques as needed
