This full-time position for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired offers an opportunity to work onsite in a K-12 school environment located in Kernersville, NC. The role requires a dedicated educator with a focus on supporting students with visual impairments across all grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of visually impaired students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Participate in professional development and mentorship programs to stay current with best practices in visual impairment education.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license is required.
- Experience working with visually impaired students in a K-12 setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of assistive technology and adapted instructional materials.
