Job Description

Make a difference by supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering specialized instruction to a caseload of 8 students, helping them achieve academic and personal success. The position is part-time, with approximately 15 hours a week of onsite service, running from August 26, 2026, through June 16, 2027.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of valid Washington State TVI (Teacher for the Visually Impaired) certification
  • Successful fingerprint clearance through OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction)
  • Prior experience working as a TVI in a school setting is highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to tailor instruction based on individual student needs and IEP goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering direct and consultative services to a caseload of 8 students with visual impairments
  • Developing and implementing individualized educational programs, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly service minutes
  • Conducting assessments, monitoring progress, and maintaining compliance with documentation requirements
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusion and accessibility
  • Advocating for accessible educational resources and assistive technology as appropriate
