Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Proficient in the use of adaptive technology and Braille
  • Commitment to fostering an equitable and supportive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess students vision needs and collaborate on developing customized learning strategies
  • Deliver direct instruction in academic, social, and daily living skills
  • Adapt instructional materials into accessible formats including Braille, large print, and audio
  • Consult regularly with classroom teachers and staff to ensure accessible instruction
  • Support students in using assistive technology to access curriculum
  • Maintain required records and participate in IEP meetings
  • Provide guidance and resources to teachers and families to support student growth
