Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization or endorsement in Visual Impairment or Blind Education
• Prior experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school environment
• Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional methods
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students, teachers, and families
• Compassionate, patient, and highly organized

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
• Provide direct instruction and support that fosters academic success and independence
• Adapt curriculum materials and create accessible resources using Braille, large print, or technology
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches based on individual needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote an inclusive learning environment
• Stay current with advancements in assistive technology and best practices for teaching visually impaired students
