Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to a welcoming school environment near Katy, TX. Take on a pivotal contract role, supporting students as you step into the caseload of a retiring TVI this December. Ideal candidates are comfortable working onsite and can tailor their schedule for either full-time (35 hours/week) or part-time hours, with the option for occasional hybrid days based on mutual agreement.

Qualifications:

• Valid TX Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure required
• Proven experience applying specialized instructional strategies for visually impaired students
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, families, and service coordinators
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and adapt lessons to individual learning plans
• Flexible approach to scheduling and service delivery, with preference given to those available for onsite work

Duties Include:

• Providing direct instruction and support for students with visual impairments
• Designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state standards
• Consulting with educators and support staff on adaptations, accessible classroom materials, and student progress
• Conducting assessments and maintaining accurate, timely documentation
• Engaging with families to foster inclusive, supportive educational experiences
• Staying current with best practices in visual impairment instruction and related assistive technology
