Empower students with visual impairments to excel in a supportive educational environment. We are seeking an experienced educator to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, working with a districtwide itinerant caseload in the Houston, TX area. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and runs through July 3, 2026, with on-site responsibilities and a schedule of 32.5 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) educator license
• Proven experience or demonstrated skillset supporting students who are visually impaired within a school setting
• Familiarity with adaptive technology, Braille literacy, and individualized education planning
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with educational teams, families, and service providers
• Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring educational materials and methods to individual needs
• Work closely with administrators and fellow educators to develop and implement IEP goals
• Travel between schools within the district to support students in various educational environments
• Offer consultation and training to staff on best practices and accommodations for visually impaired learners
• Participate in ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress to ensure continued growth and success
