Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligibility for state licensure
• Experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
• Familiarity with assistive technology, Braille instruction, and adaptive curriculum techniques
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, staff, and families
• Flexibility and compassion when adapting resources and instruction to individual needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring lessons to IEP goals
• Assess students needs and progress to develop and implement individualized educational plans
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure inclusive, effective learning
• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and the use of adaptive technology as required
• Advocate for students accessibility, promoting self-advocacy and independence skills
• Contribute to IEP meetings and prepare necessary documentation to support student success
