Make a profound impact supporting students who are visually impaired by providing specialized instruction and resources across multiple school locations in a district near Junction City, OR. This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for dedicated educators ready to travel within the district, ensuring all students have access to high-quality learning experiences. You will work closely with students, families, and school teams to adapt and deliver curriculum, addressing unique learning needs with professionalism and care.
Key Qualifications:
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proven experience working with school-aged students with visual impairments
- Strong understanding of adaptive technologies and Braille
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites within the district
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to personalized instruction and inclusion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students visual abilities and educational needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and daily living skills
- Consult with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and materials
- Serve as a resource for staff on best practices in supporting visually impaired students
- Document progress and maintain thorough student records
- Attend meetings, workshops, and participate in ongoing professional development
Role Highlights:
- Full-time schedule of 37.540 hours per week

- Assignment details, start and end dates will align with the upcoming academic year, expected to run from mid/late August through late May or early June
