Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Current certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Strong understanding of adaptive technology and accessible instructional materials
  • Experience designing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general educators, families, and related service providers
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Prior school-based or pediatric experience strongly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction following students IEPs
  • Conduct assessments to determine students educational and adaptive needs
  • Modify curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility and inclusivity
  • Instruct students in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility skills as needed
  • Consult with teachers, staff, and families to promote best practices and accommodations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and professional development opportunities
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students with visual impairments
