What We're Looking For:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments
  • Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff, families, and specialists
  • Flexibility and creativity in adapting instructional techniques to meet student needs

Your Impact:

  • Provide direct instruction to students, fostering independence and academic achievement
  • Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
  • Develop/adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities tailored for each student
  • Train school staff and families on assistive technologies and accommodations
