Qualifications and Skills:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students of varying ages and abilities who are blind or visually impaired
• Proficiency in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility concepts
• Strong ability to individualize lesson plans and materials
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students' vision-related educational needs in consultation with multidisciplinary teams
• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and areas for growth
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, technology, daily living skills, and adapted educational materials
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive environment
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed
• Support professional development and training for staff on accessibility best practices
