This on-site position in Houston, TX offers an opportunity to support students districtwide as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. You will provide specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students, working itinerantly across multiple school sites within the district. The assignment runs from ASAP through July 3, 2026, with a part-time schedule of 32.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized educational services to students with visual impairments across various school locations
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student needs and learning objectives
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress and access to the curriculum
- Monitor student development and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required by the district and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license is required
- Experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
- Ability to manage a districtwide itinerant caseload effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting students academic and social development
