Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state certification in teaching students with visual impairments
- Experience working with K-12 learners in schools preferred
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across teams
- Proficiency in Braille instruction and assistive technology
- Compassionate, student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students
- Instruct students in Braille, use of low-vision devices, and orientation/mobility skills
- Consult with classroom teachers to adapt curricular materials and teaching methods
- Evaluate student progress and document outcomes
- Serve as a resource for families and staff regarding best practices for visually impaired education
