Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligible for certification.
• Previous experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school environment.
• Knowledge of adapting classroom materials and teaching strategies to varying levels of visual ability.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable with assessment tools and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments.
• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans in accordance with students IEP goals.
• Support classroom teachers by adapting materials and offering guidance on best practices for inclusive education.
• Conduct functional vision assessments and assistive technology evaluations as needed.
• Teach students in orientation and mobility as appropriate, either directly or in consultation.
• Maintain clear and timely documentation of student progress and services provided.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights for student support and growth.
