Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably within schools
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, low vision devices, and accessible instructional methods
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and students
• Commitment to fostering inclusivity and independence among students with diverse needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students visual functioning and learning environments to determine individualized needs
• Develop and implement IEP goals and instructional plans tailored to each student
• Teach students Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and the use of adaptive devices
• Provide training for faculty and staff on tools and techniques that support accessibility
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with education standards
• Communicate regularly with parents and school teams to share strategies and progress updates
