Required Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive devices
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and other support staff
• Patient, flexible, and passionate about empowering students
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each learner
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, use of technology, and daily living skills
• Support classroom teachers in adapting curriculum and creating accessible materials
• Evaluate progress and adjust strategies to maximize student achievement
• Advocate for students accommodations and access within the school environment
• Maintain clear documentation and participate in meetings with families and educational teams
