Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in visual impairment
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired
• Strong knowledge of Braille, accessible technology, and adaptive equipment
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborative spirit to work effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability in a dynamic school setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess student abilities and craft personalized instructional strategies
• Teach core subjects and daily life skills using adaptive methods and materials
• Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technologies
• Advocate for student inclusion in general education settings
• Collaborate with classroom staff to adapt curricula and environments as needed
• Maintain ongoing communication with families, providing resources and support
• Document student progress and adjust instruction to meet evolving needs
