A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher to support students with visual impairments in a school setting in Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Deliver direct instruction in braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other specialists to promote student success
- Adapt educational materials and learning environments to ensure accessibility
- Provide training and support to staff and families regarding visual impairment strategies and tools
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching approaches accordingly
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Visual Impairment or related field
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and accessibility methods
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs aligned with state guidelines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and inclusive education
