Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• State certification to teach students with visual impairments (TVI)
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field
• Experience working directly with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other specialists
• Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet students unique needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess students abilities, develop goals, and support their academic and functional skill growth
• Implement and adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate visual impairments
• Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive participation
• Educate and guide families about resources, strategies, and advocacy for visually impaired students
• Monitor and document student progress, completing evaluations and reports as required
