Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments, preferably in a school setting
• Strong understanding of assistive technology and braille instruction
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students vision-related educational needs and create tailored instructional plans
• Deliver direct services in braille, orientation and mobility basics, and adaptive techniques for daily living
• Support classroom teachers in adapting materials and strategies for visually impaired students
• Consult with parents, staff, and other professionals to promote student access and success
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district policies
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and staff development as required
