Job Description
A school district in Houston, TX is seeking a qualified Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support students across multiple locations within the district. This is an on-site contract position requiring a focus on districtwide itinerant services for visually impaired students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various school sites
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, families, and related service providers
- Implement strategies and resources tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired learners
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Collaborate with school staff to create inclusive learning environments
Qualifications:
- Current Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) educator license is required
- Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting
- Ability to manage a districtwide itinerant caseload effectively
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to supporting the educational and social development of students with visual impairments
Location:
- Houston, TX (On-site)
Hours:
- 32.5 hours per week
Contract Duration:
- Immediate start through July 3, 2026
