Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in visual impairment or blindness
• Experience working with students who are visually impaired in a school or educational setting
• Strong understanding of assistive technology and adaptive tools for low-vision learners
• Ability to design and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, individually or in small groups
• Assess student needs and progress, recommending appropriate accommodations
• Consult with general education teachers and staff on best practices and modifications
• Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals in line with district and state guidelines
• Advise families on available resources, advocacy, and support strategies
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, services, and student progress
• Promote independence and daily living skills in alignment with each students abilities
