Job Description

A full-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 20262027 school year, located in Hope Mills, NC. This role requires working Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week, with a caseload that includes elementary, middle, and high school students. The contract period is from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels.
  • Implement teaching methods in accordance with district guidelines to support student learning.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments using both formal and informal testing to monitor progress.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, contributing professional insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with educational teams and families to develop individualized education plans that meet student needs.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required.
  • Experience working with visually impaired students at varying educational levels (elementary through high school).
  • Strong skills in assessment practices and the development of student-centered instructional strategies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
