Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with visual impairments by supporting their educational journey across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Contract opportunities are available for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, spanning August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027. Work full-time, Monday through Friday, for 37.5 hours weekly, collaborating with educators and families in a rewarding environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required.
  • Experience working with students at various grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school.
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet individual students needs.
  • Comfortable conducting both formal and informal assessments to measure student learning and progress.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and actively participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings.
  • Familiarity with IEP (Individualized Education Program) development and educational documentation.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, families, and external specialists.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support based on district and legal requirements for students with visual impairments.
  • Create individualized educational plans and adapt instructional materials.
  • Monitor and report on academic achievement and progress through ongoing assessment.
  • Prepare and contribute to ARD meetings as an educational advocate for students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to support inclusion and accessibility.
