This full-time position for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is located near Miami, FL, offering a contract role within a school setting. The caseload is divided between two classrooms, each with approximately 10 students, and involves a collaborative co-teaching environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction in braille and assistive technology tailored to blind and visually impaired students.
• Support instructional staff in implementing necessary accommodations within the learning environment.
• Adapt classroom environments to enhance learning accessibility.
• Offer braille instruction support to families.
• Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as required.
• Provide outreach support and training for children and families involved.
• Deliver early intervention services aligned with client goals.
• Support various children's programs as needed.
• Maintain required professional accreditations, licenses, and continuing education.
• Update client assessments and document findings in designated database systems.
• Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and community engagement activities.

Qualifications:

• Florida Department of Education (FL DOE) Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license required.
