Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support high school students in a school setting. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction to 9th-grade students, helping them develop essential skills to navigate their educational environment successfully.

Location: Riverview, FL
Type: Contract, CSY (Contract School Year)
Hours: Approximately 46 minutes per day, 5 days a week
Age Group: 9th Grade

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
  • Develop and implement educational plans aligned with state guidelines and best practices
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to foster a supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning experiences

Qualifications and Credentials:

  • Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification in Florida
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills necessary for collaboration and reporting
