Make a meaningful difference in students lives as an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired supporting K-12 learners for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract role, located in the Chattanooga area, offers the opportunity to bring essential services to multiple schools while working closely with a supportive district team. The position is itinerant, with travel thoughtfully scheduled to minimize commuting between assigned sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative TVI services to students in general and special education classrooms, K-12+
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) using the TN Pulse platform
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating with educational teams and families
• Teach and support Braille literacy and independent living skills
• Integrate and train staff/students in the use of Assistive Technology; familiarity with the Federal Quota Program is a plus
• Adapt curriculum materials for accessibility using Chromebooks and accessible tools
• Maintain clear documentation and compliance with district/state requirements
• Travel between campuses within a geographically assigned area; mileage minimization considered

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hold an active DOE certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Prior experience serving K-12 students in itinerant school settings
• Proficient in Braille and Assistive Technology applications
• Strength in communication, adaptation, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
• Completion of required fingerprinting/background check prior to start
