Step into a vital role supporting inclusive education as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a welcoming school environment near Hebron, IL. Youll work closely with a single student, providing specialized instruction for 12 hours each week during the 26/27 school year. Your expertise will make a powerful impact, helping your student access the curriculum and develop essential skills for lifelong learning.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Educator Certification for Visual Impairment
- Prior experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), with a passion for individualized instruction
- Strong understanding of creating and adapting curriculum materials for students with visual needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and other service providers
- Commitment to fostering independence, self-advocacy, and confidence in students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of a student with visual impairments
- Provide strategies and resources to enhance access to academic content
- Adapt educational materials and recommend necessary assistive technology
- Participate in collaborative meetings regarding student progress and IEP implementation
- Document sessions, maintaining thorough and confidential records
