This contract position offers flexibility, with both full-time and part-time schedules available during the academic year starting in September 2026 through June 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, ensuring their full participation in academics and school activities
- Adapt curriculum materials and develop individualized education plans tailored to each students needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to identify and provide necessary accommodations
- Assess student progress and communicate outcomes to stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with educational guidelines and district policies
- Stay current with best practices and statutory requirements for serving visually impaired students
Qualifications:
- Active Visually Impaired Teacher License and valid MA DOE certification
- Successful completion of all Massachusetts Teacher Education Licensure (MTEL) exams
- Experience working as a VI Teacher strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create accessible instructional materials and modify curriculum
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
