Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Massachusetts Department of Education licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher).
- Successful completion of required MTELs.
- Experience creating and delivering individualized instruction for visually impaired students.
- Strong collaboration skills with fellow educators, support staff, and families.
- Commitment to fostering student growth, accessibility, and inclusion.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in an onsite K-12 setting.
- Develop and implement IEP goals and strategies tailored to each students needs.
- Consult with classroom teachers to adapt curricular materials and classroom environments for optimal accessibility.
- Conduct and interpret assessments, monitor progress, and maintain all required documentation.
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students, staff, and families regarding best practices in visual impairment education.
