Job Description
A school in Haverhill, MA is seeking a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher to support students with visual impairments. This contract position is available immediately and runs through June 18, 2026. Both full-time and part-time options are offered, with work performed onsite only.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families.
- Implement assistive technology and adaptive learning materials.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse needs.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and administrators to create an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MA DOE) license for Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (VI Teacher License).
- Successful completion of required MTEL examinations.
- Proven experience working with visually impaired students preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to provide tailored educational strategies and adaptations.
