Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree with active Louisiana DOE Certification and specialization in visual impairment
• At least 3 years of experience in elementary, secondary, or special education

• Proficient in assistive technology and Braille instruction; orientation & mobility training preferred
• Highly organized, analytical, and adept at juggling multiple priorities
• Able to meet district credentialing requirements, including drug screen and fingerprint clearance
• Capable of providing your own transportation across school sites

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments across multiple school locations
• Collaborate with general education staff to provide accessible reading materials and instructional aids
• Conduct in-service training for school personnel on support strategies
• Consult and communicate with the Louisiana Department of Education and district leadership
• Obtain and organize adaptive textbooks, resources, and educational materials
• Support school initiatives and perform other duties as directed by the Director of IDEA
